Who starves
herself to make sure you get filled? Who gently picks you up each time you fall
while learning how to walk?who puts your need first before hers? Who smiled at
you each time you made it? Who encourages you each time you are discouraged? Who
disturbs the Creator for your sake? Who never sleep unless you are okay?
A precious treasure that will forever remain priceless is taken for granted by most of us. The treasure being alluded to is a mother, who forges a unique bond with her baby that very few can understand and appreciate. Right through childhood and adulthood, a mother nurtures you and molds you - just like a potter molds his pots. You may have experienced the good times and the bad times in each stage of your life, but your mother is sure to be by your side, clasping your hand and taking you out of your troubles. Her love for you only amplifies exponentially and no matter what happens, she will never make you feel miserable. Her very presence is enough to elevate your sulking mood.
Even though you may complain that your mom is irritating, nagging, exacting, annoying and judgmental who gets your goat and makes you fly off the handle, you can be certain of one thing. You are bound to sorely miss your mother especially when either you or she is away from home. It is only when you miss her most that you realize the significance of your mother and the warmth of her comforting presence. However, we ought to remember that we owe a lot to moms, who have stood by us through thick and thin and never complained to others about us.
She should occupy a special place in your life. She should forever reside in your heart and life and her presence should never be substituted by anyone. She is one of the sweetest companions you have who is a repository of love. She is the one who makes our life worthwhile by showering us with unconditional love and accepting us the way we are. She does not expect us to change for whatever reasons there may be. She celebrates and remembers all our achievements but knowingly glosses over all our mistakes. Her happiness and sorrows are enmeshed with the happiness and sorrows that you experience. She is your mother, who spends a major chunk of her day taking care of you, making sure that you brush your teeth and eat your meals on time. She wipes your bottoms and tears and fights back anger when you do not listen to her. She sings lullabies to us, enraptures us with her engaging fairytales, puts us to sleep and kisses our foreheads. She takes you to school, spends time over your homework, guides you through the difficult times and teaches you small courtesies like 'please' and 'thank you' that go a big way in grooming you. For all that mothers do for us, we should love her deeply. The love, patience, perseverance and determination that they demonstrate in bringing us up makes them deserve our warmest love and appreciation.
A mother's love is something that no one can explain,it is made up of deep devotion and of sacrifice, pain which is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may. It is patient and forgiving when all others are foresaking and it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking. It believes beyond believing when the world around condems, and it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems. It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanations. And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation.
